New year, new blog series.
To kick off the new year, we are identifying 7 of the biggest mistakes that craft beverage companies are making online and how to fix them. Our goal is to help you start the decade on top of your digital marketing game.
Are you struggling to create content? Are you creating posts at the last minute? Do you skip posting because you have day-to-day tasks that take priority?
If this sounds like you, the best thing you can do for your marketing strategy is to set aside some time to plan.
Taking the time to analyze your current strategy, and plan out a new one will not only save you time in the long run, but it will also strengthen your digital presence as your brand will have cohesive, thought-out messaging, which will help you attract more customers.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS
Saying you’re going to set aside time is much easier than actually doing it. Our advice? Follow these steps and build your plan to start 2020 strong.
Look at all of your social media platforms and your website. Track how you are doing on each using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Don’t forget to take a look at how similar companies are doing on digital.
Decide on the look and feel you’d like to have online and write it down. Plan out how you’d like to formulate your captions, and what you’d like your pictures to look like. Wrap it all up with a hashtag strategy and a plan on how to present links!
STEP 3: CREATE A CONTENT CALENDAR
Get a blank calendar and plan out your content for the month. Don’t forget to write in holidays and events so you can be ready to promote them! Our suggestion is to always be a month ahead.
You’ll save yourself a lot of time and headaches if you schedule your posts in batches. You can schedule a week out, or prepare the whole month ahead of time! Using scheduling software is key. Our favorite platform is Later.
WHY IT MATTERS
Your audience is already online. They’re checking their inboxes, browsing Facebook, and tapping through Instagram Stories each day. The best way to get your brand in front of them is to meet them where they already are.
If you do this consistently, you’ll stay at the top of their minds so that when they’re thirsty for craft beer, planning a wine tasting, or shopping for cider at the grocery store, they’ll think of your brand first.
DON’T HAVE TIME?
We understand that your company has a lot of moving parts that need to work in order for you to succeed. But in the end, if you’re trying to get your products into the hands of your customers, you can’t afford to waste time posting just to get something online.
Successful small businesses are investing money in marketing. Why? Because it works. It’s time to take a strategic approach to your digital marketing.
