Everyone loves a little liquid holiday cheer. Heading into the gifting season, it’s the most wonderful time of year to step up your Instagram game. Social media absolutely needs to be a part of your holiday marketing strategy.

Consumer spending is at an all-time high right now, and the majority of spending starts digitally. Keep these 7 Instagram tips in mind to give your business a boost as 2018 comes to an end.

#1: SHARE GIFT IDEAS

Gift givers look to social media for inspiration more than ever before. When shopping for a craft beer lover or wine enthusiast, you bet we’re thinking locally. And our first stop is social. Grab a bottle, a cool glass, a recipe book, and voila you have created Insta giftspo. And remember, the easier you make it for your followers the better. Aka if you can splurge for an Insta Story ad, do it. Swipe up linking is a Instagame changer.

#2: BE PUNNY

Drinking humor is welcome at this time of year. Don’t be afraid to get a little lit on Insta. The more clever (and corny) your captions are the better. Your followers will appreciate a hoppy holiday pun or few. When you’re getting into the holiday spirit, your followers will too.

#3: POST HOLIDAY RECIPES

Beautiful booze is always double tappable. Everyone *secretly* wants to be a mixologist, but especially during during the holidays. If you have a recipe for a seasonal cocktail, share it with your followers. Hostesses are on the lookout for party inspo right now, so inspire them to take your spirits home to create a cranberry mule for Thanksgiving dinner or seasonal mimosas for Christmas morning.

#4: CREATE YOUR OWN PAIRING GUIDES

Pairings are popular. Holiday pairings are even more popular. People love a boozy-themed infographic. Look to Wine Folly and VinePair for inspo, we sure do. Create your own on Canva, or hire someone to create one. If graphics aren’t your thing, stage a pairing pic. You really can’t go wrong with a holiday cheese board and craft beer and cider.

#5: HOST GIVEAWAYS

Since followers are actively scrolling right now, it’s the ideal time to create a contest. People love to win, but even more so during the holidays. People drop major dollars come November/December, so a freebie is very desirable particularly if the prize can be brought to a holiday party or gifted. Think wine, beer, cider, liquor, drinkware, etc.

#6: PARTNER WITH INFLUENCERS

Like it or not, we live in an influencer world. By identifying the ones that are relevant to your brand, and reach out. These peeps know how to spread news in the craft beverage industry. They reach followers in a more organic way than more obvious advertisements. If your favorite influencer is loving it, you are too. Influencer marketing could very well be the difference between a good final quarter and great one.

#7: CREATE A VIBE

If you have a holiday party coming up, resist the urge to always post flyers. Get more creative! Focus on creating an atmosphere instead. When followers can picture themselves in your tasting room, you are doing it right. If it’s an annual event, share a pic from last year. If it’s a brand-new event, give followers a sneak peek at what to expect by setting the scene. Think cozy vibes.

READY OR NOT?

Here they come! Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas are coming up quick, and don’t forget about Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday. Each one is a unique marketing opportunity for your brand.

Devoting a portion of your holiday marketing funds to social media is the move, so long as you’re strategic. We recommend giving your Instagram a festive makeover ASAP. Need help? Ask us!
